A letter from our executive director
Dear Homeowners:
Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County has been monitoring recent updates regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We realize that the pandemic environment is causing uncertainty for our homeowners. Currently our offices and Restore are closed to the public and our employees are working remotely. All current updates can be found at our website atwww.habitatsouthsarasota.org/covid-19.
We are closely monitoring the details of any economic benefit programs that pertain to our organization’s operations and our homeowners. Some of our homeowners have contacted us to share their personal stories of how they have been impacted by job loss. We are urging homeowners in this situation to explore community and government assistance, including the enhanced unemployment assistance through the CARES Act, which may be available to them during this trying time.
We urge homeowners that have not been impacted to continue to make your mortgage payments. We are waiving late fees for April and May should you need additional time to make your payment through the end of the month.
We are in this together and remain prayerful and hopeful for our Habitat South Sarasota families and the continuation of our operations. You can take resolve that our mission has always been about families and this will not change. Our Habitat homeowners and the wellbeing of our employees are our top priorities for our business continuation plan.
If you have been impacted by job loss, reduction in income, or the virus in any way, please contact us to discuss arrangements via online at www.habitatsouthsarasota.org/covid-19 and click on Updates for Homeowners.
Please stay healthy and safe during this time.
Shannon Hoyt,
Executive Director
