Chief Development Officer
Primary Role: The Chief Development Officer is responsible for increasing the fundraising capacity of Habitat for Humanity of South Sarasota County to build simple, decent affordable houses throughout the county in accordance with its mission. This role will be responsible for building relationships in the community including individuals, businesses, churches, organizations, governmental agencies, and foundations. The Chief Development Officer will implement fundraising strategies to accomplish fund development and capacity building initiatives identified in the strategic plan.
Core Responsibilities: Build relationships with current donors and prospects and make personal visits, and perform follow-up activities focusing on growing the donor base. Participate in public speaking and outreach opportunities as needed to share information about Habitat for Humanity of South Sarasota’s goals and impact in the community. Serve on the Development Committee, guide and create a team approach for implementing fundraising techniques aimed at building and sustaining donors and prospects. Assist with follow-up calling, mailings, and other activities related to building strong donor relationships and enhancing donor confidence in the organization. Coordinate and oversee direct donor mailings, appeal letters, and other donor enhancement activities as needed. Oversee tasks associated with fundraising, including acquisition, solicitation, stewardship, and monitoring of all donor data and relationships. Manage and oversee annual donor cycle. Prepare regular reports that evaluate fundraising efforts, develop monthly progress reports on implementation status and quarterly reports on the three year strategic plan. Meet or exceed fundraising goals for the organization.
Reporting and Communication: Create written monthly report of fundraising activities and efforts. Work closely and give oversight to the Development team to coordinate weekly and monthly schedules as well as long-term planning for fundraising needs. Ensure that Executive Director is informed on a regular basis of progress and challenges.
Participates on the Development Committee.
Performs other tasks as necessary.
Skills and Personal Characteristics: Dedication to and ability to articulate the mission and core values of Habitat for Humanity of South Sarasota. Ability to plan, schedule, prioritize, coordinate, delegate and manage multiple work activities. Demonstrated enthusiasm, team focused, and strong customer service skills. Attention to detail and overall quality control. Strong interpersonal skills, dealing well with a variety of people, personalities and backgrounds. Excellent written and verbal communication and public relations skills. Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods at a time.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field or related professional experience. Experience in supervising and leading volunteers, directing successful teams and accountable for meeting objectives. Demonstrated ability in training, managing, leading and developing people. Well organized and detail oriented. Multi-skilled individual who can build long-term community and financial support for Habitat. Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and email. Background check may be required.
Performance Indicators: Build fundraising efforts to enhance the mission of Habitat South Sarasota including the procurement of new funding and donors. Increase in donations and funding. Initiative and independent action demonstrated in handling tasks assigned. Strong communication with staff and key community constituents. Demonstrated knowledge of operations, policies and procedures. Coordination and successful community support and implementation of special events.
Reports to: Executive Director
Employment Status: Full Time salaried position at 40 hours + per week, including Saturdays.
Salary: Competitive pay and benefits package. Compensation is dependent on experience.

Greet customers entering the Habitat Restore
· Have knowledge of daily/weekly sales and promotions.
· Count cash drawer at the beginning and the end of your shift.
· Take payment and issue receipts.
· Maintain extra copies tax exempt forms, in store credit forms, end of day register forms, coupon forms, and any other forms that you would need in a day.
· Responsible for counter display area keeping it neat and clean.
· Ensure purchased goods are stocked, priced, and straightened daily.
· Ensure safe environment for customers, volunteers, and employees.
· Answer customer questions and provide information on policies and procedures.
· Clean and organize patio area.
· Maintain office supply list.
· Follow daily check sheet and sign.
· Make sure all sale signs match and are current for the day.
· Answer phones.
· Be knowledgeable of the Habitat for Humanity mission.
· Contribute to team effort.

Pay: $11.50 - $12.50 per hour
ReStore Truck Driver
Primary Role: The ReStore Truck Driver is responsible for the safe pick-up, transfer, and loading and unloading of donated items to the ReStore while providing excellent customer service.
General Responsibilities: Safety and team work are emphasized while moving product on the road and on the Restore property. When not on the road the Truck Driver is a member of the processing and merchandising team. They also must be available to provide excellent customer service and assist customers with carryout of purchases. They should have a good understanding of the mission of Habitat South Sarasota and be compliant to all policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities: Organize, review, and document all pick-up paperwork. Fill out truck safety checklist each morning prior to leaving for daily pick-ups. Professionally greet donors and inspect donations prior to loading. Be aware of the current items we accept. Excellent customer service is a high priority. Call manager on duty if item is in question. Safely lift heavy items using the proper equipment provided. Safe measures include, but are not limited to, the use of hand trucks, dollies, back support belts, gloves, safety goggles and the assistance of additional help. Offer tax receipt to donor, assist in filling the form out and thank donor for their support of Habitat for Humanity.
