Wired to Serve
Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity is often described as life-changing—not only for the families who receive homes but also for the people who help build them. For Clint, who has been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County for over 10 years, that’s certainly been the case.
Clint brings a special skillset to the build site—he specializes in electrical construction—but over the years, he’s worked in nearly every area of construction. From bare ground to finished homes, Clint has had a hand in transforming dreams into reality.
“It’s rewarding work as we see a house come together from a vacant lot to the final finishing touches,” he shares. “And then we get to welcome a family into their new home.”
For Clint, the joy of volunteering goes beyond the technical work. It’s about people—both the team of volunteers he serves alongside and the families who partner with Habitat on the journey to homeownership.
“It’s great to work with other volunteers as well as the families who will be getting future homes that we build,” he says. “We always need more volunteers—either already skilled or those that are willing to learn.”
Whether you’re a seasoned tradesperson or someone brand-new to construction, Clint believes there’s something meaningful waiting for you on the job site. It’s not just about the houses being built—it’s about the hearts being lifted, the friendships being formed, and the community being strengthened.
“It’s sometimes hard to explain how working for others can bring me so much enjoyment,” Clint reflects. “But it does. Every time.”
With ten years of service and countless homes behind him, Clint continues to show up—not just to build structures, but to help build futures. And he invites others to do the same.
