If you know anything about Habitat, you know that we do everything we can to work with our partner families, guiding them through the complicated homeownership process, and teaching them valuable skills -- financial skills or construction skills on the build sites.
Nicole is one of our future Habitat homeowners currently putting in sweat equity hours by helping to build other families' homes, as well as her own future home and she shares:
"I have gone to Habitat construction sites to help build homes. I have learned a lot from cutting dry wall, drilling and putting up the actual wall to grouting floors. This has taught me so much and given me confidence to potentially fix things in my own home."-Nicole M.
Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. Together, we can break the bias in our communities, just like Nicole is. Today, on International Women's Day, and beyond, we invite you to celebrate women's achievement, raise awareness against bias, and take action for equality.
