 What's new at Habitat? The Aurora Award was presented to Habitat for Green Construction – Affordable Housing. The homes received a Green Home Certification from the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC). A minimum score of 100 is needed for Green certification. The Garden Park homes received a score of 231 giving the Garden Park homes FGBD’s highest certification of Platinum. The development also received a Certificate of Validation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that certifies that the homes meet the criteria of Energy Star for Homes. Michael Sollitto, Construction Manager for Habitat said “This is a major accomplishment for our affiliate as we take the next step to insure that all of our families have an affordable, energy efficient and sustainable home to live in.
